1927-30c. Westinghouse 52" Antique Ceiling Fan

1927-30c. Westinghouse Electric & MFG. Company, Springfield, MA.,U.S.A., 52" Antique Ceiling Fan

Westinghouse Electric Company introduced this model during the latter half of the 1920s. It featured modern styling that included a smooth sculptured stamped steel bottom plate, while retaining a cast iron motor frame.

One styling feature that Westinghouse incorporated in the design of this model was to conceal the rotor of the fan from view, which was unique at the time. Not one to sit idly behind, one of General Electric's 52" ceiling fans embodied a similar design concept as well during the 1930s.

The fan shown in this gallery was restored for a client and featured a 90% original paint preservation. Some of the features of this model are:

  • Dimensions- 7.5" Length x 10.5" width
  • Cast iron frame and stamped steel motor housing cover.
  • Oil Bath Lubrication System Continuously Bathes the Motor Shaft in a Curtain of Oil.
  • Thrust Bearing Designed is Immersed in Oil at All Times.
  • Concealed rotor design for a smooth "modern" 1920s-30s style.
  • Lighter in weight.
  • Solid State Speed Control allows for a Variety of Speeds.
