1937-50c. Emerson 52" Vintage Ceiling Fan, Standard Gloss Black Finish

1937-50c. Emerson Electric Company of St. Louis, M.O., U.S.A. 52" Vintage Ceiling Fan, Gloss Black Finish

We believe the Emerson Electric Company introduced the first version of this model, the type 85641, sometime in the late 1930s.As with their famous type 77646 desk fans of the era, they hit a home run with this model.

Emerson engineered such a superb design in this model that they continued to produce it until at least 1950c. or later. Emerson evolved this model from the famous type 45641 ceiling fan that was first introduced around 1918. They manufactured a version of that fan in the early to mid 30s that had a hybrid type of oil cup(nose portion) that had the characteristic bulb shape at the top cast into the older style cup. This larger oil cup characteristic was incorporated into the new model along with other manufacturing improvements.

With this fan,  Emerson continued to secure their place in history as a premier U.S. fan manufacturer as they won numerous spots in hotels, municipal buildings, and high rises all over the world's great cities. The simple lines of its design beckoned the coming post war boom and this style allows this model to blend easily in numerous decors. This model epitomizes the height of ceiling fan manufacturing in America.

This beautiful featured fan was custom restored for an Ojai, California home. It features a traditional look with the gloss black finish and medium walnut finish solid mahogany blades . Features of this model include:
