1918-31c. Emerson Electric Company of St. Louis, M.O., U.S.A. 56" Antique Ceiling Fan, Traditional Copper Oxide Finish
Emerson Electric Company introduced this model type 45641 in about 1918 and offered it in a unique copper oxide finish during that time.
Emerson engineered such a superb design in this model that they continued to produce it until at least 1931 when they proclaimed that " this fan can be used anywhere that big volumes of air must be moved". This feature alone could be the reason that Emerson sold so many of these fans for use in public buildings such as court houses and hotels.
We actually know of one of these models still installed in a former apothecary where it has performed its duty faithfully since the 1920s
The fan featured in this gallery was an heirloom fan passed down to our client and moved to its Flower Mound, Texas home from Nebraska. Vintage Fans.com restored this model matching the original copper oxide finished bottom plate that was damaged sometime in the past.
The fan had a partial original light kit that was completed during the restoration as well. We fully restored this fan while preserving the integrity of its original finish and blending our copper oxide to match the existing finish.
Antique ceiling fans with nice original finishes are a scarce commodity today. Vintage Fans.com has a limited supply of ceiling fans in our unrestored inventory that have nice original finishes awaiting preservation. Please call us or email about availability.
